Normally, HCG hormone levels double every 72 hours during pregnancy, reaching their highest level in the first 8-11 weeks of pregnancy and then decreasing, but continuing throughout the pregnancy.

If the HCG hormone level is less than 5 mIU\/ml, it indicates a negative pregnancy, and any level higher than 25 mIU\/ml indicates a positive pregnancy.<\/p>\n

9-12 weeks LMP: 25,700-288,000 mIU\/ml
13-16 weeks LMP: 13,300-254,000 mIU\/ml
17-24 weeks LMP: 4,060-165,400 mIU\/ml
25-40 weeks LMP: 3,640-117,000 mIU\/ml
Sometimes, abnormally high or low levels of this hormone can indicate a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, or multiple pregnancies.
