● Health Recommendations During Menstruation
1. Prevention is always easier than cure. Knowing this, one of the syndromes that women suffer from is toxic shock syndrome during menstruation, which occurs on the 3rd or 4th day of menstruation and is characterized by high fever. The main cause is the use of tampons instead of sanitary pads, which causes wounds. To prevent this problem, it is better to use appropriate sanitary napkins.
The sanitary pads used should be soft and have a soft outer layer, and they should be able to maintain their shape during use, and prevent unpleasant odor. So, do not use tampons, scented sanitary pads, or toilet paper. Use a standard sanitary pad or a clean cloth.
2. Change the pads every three to four hours. Since menstrual blood has an unpleasant odor, it is recommended to change the sanitary pads on a timely fashion during this period. Wrap the used pad in waste paper and throw it in the garbage can with lid.
3. Wash yourself with lukewarm water after each time you use bathroom.
Always keep the genital area and its surrounding area dry and clean, as moisture promotes the growth of germs.
When washing yourself, wipe from front to back.
4. Wear cotton underwear and change it frequently.
5. During menstruation and bleeding, taking a bath daily is not only not harmful,
but also beneficial. This reduces pain, reduces
fatigue and boredom, and eliminates bad odor.
When bathing, washing the body should be done in a standing up position
and avoid sitting on the floor of the bathroom and immersing yourself in the bathtub or pool.
6. Avoid overeating during this period and drink plenty of fruit and water
to prevent constipation.
Eat meats, eggs, liver, vegetables, legumes such as lentils and beans,
green peas, whole meal bread, nuts and dried fruits.
7. Light exercise and activity during this period is not only prohibited,
but also relaxes the muscles and reduces physical and mental problems before menstruation.
